Planted in the 1980's by Roy Dodson, Rosebud Vineyard has a long tradition of growing fruit for some of Washington's largest wineries. Recently more and more small wineries have begun to notice the quality of the Dodson family's fruit. The next generation, including Roy's son Chip and son-in-law Matt Hyndman, have diversified the focus of the farm to include more acreage contracts like those that we utilize.
The Dodson's Semillon is widely regarded as being among the finest in the state. The location on the Wahluke slope, high on the South side of the Saddle Mountains, was an ideal place to re-plant our block of Nebbiolo after the neighboring and previous vineyard site of our Nebbiolo block sold. Rosebud Vineyard's long frost free period and warm site are also ideal for Malbec which we additionally contract from the Dodson's.
